  • We are PEER IL, a statewide advocacy network dedicated to fostering collaboration between various stakeholders, including school community members, organizers, lawyers, academics, researchers, and policy makers. Our primary focus is on campaigns that drive reinvestment in public education.

As part of a national effort, we join forces with 10 partners across seven states. Together, our mission is to build movements around innovative state and local solutions for education equity.

Through a combination of organizing, research, legislative advocacy, and legal work, we strive to develop a community-led platform and collective narrative that articulates our vision of what fully-funded education looks like in Illinois.

  • PEER IL organizes parents, youth, and educators to become leaders in fighting for and achieving equitably and fully-resourced public schools that meet the unique needs of children, regardless of race, family income, or neighborhood.

To achieve this goal, PEER IL demands the following conditions from the state of Illinois regarding the Evidence Based Funding for Student Success Act (EBF). Learn more by reading this report.

  • Public school students in Illinois, no matter their race, family income, or neighborhood, deserve an excellent, fully-funded education. Communities across Illinois have the power to hold local and statewide public leaders accountable for the funding our public schools are owed. Together, we can ensure a better future for our children and healthy, thriving communities built on racial and economic justice.
