We are PEER Illinois, a statewide advocacy network dedicated to bringing together school community members, organizers, lawyers, academics, researchers, and policymakers to drive reinvestment in public education. Our collaborative approach focuses on campaigns that ensure all students have access to the resources they need for success.

As part of a national effort, we join forces with partners across more than 20 states. Together, our mission is to build movements around innovative state and local solutions that ensure every student gets the resources and support they need to reach their full potential, while recognizing that every child and school has unique needs.

Through a combination of organizing, research, legislative advocacy, and legal work, we strive to develop a community-led platform that illustrates what fully funded education should look like in Illinois.

PEER Illinois organizes parents, youth, and educators to lead the fight for equitably and fully-funded public schools that meet the unique needs of their students, regardless of race, family income, or neighborhood.

Public school students in Illinois, no matter their race, family income, or neighborhood, deserve an excellent, fully-funded education. 

Communities have the power to hold leaders accountable for the funding our public schools deserve. Together, we can lift up voices that are often overlooked, push for policies that meet our needs, and ensure every student, especially those from underserved communities, has the tools they need to thrive.
